Since the iPhone landed it has received many likes and dislikes ranging from a beautiful screen all the way to a terrible hardware flaw that renders the phone incapable to sustain the basic functions of a cell phone.

One may begin to wonder “how can Steve Jobs, ranked 2nd in the top CEOs in the world back in 2008 and 2009 be so blinded to so many flaws that exist on the iPhone?” Sure the antenna issue is the most discussed issue, but the list goes on and on.

So how did a company that is known for their great customer support and satisfaction levels let this antenna slip by them? It didn’t. Here is my theory at work.

Apple’s First Time Producing Their Own Bumper

This is where my suspicion started. This is the first year that Apple has decided to create their own unique bumper for their iPhone. This expensive bumper that will run you $29 of your hard earned money (becoming a developer for Android is cheaper than that) ONLY covers the antenna. Makes you wonder doesn’t it?

Apple Has a Short History of Cases For its Older Models

Had my name been Steve Jobs and I the CEO of Apple, to avoid any possible speculations suggesting that I knew about this antenna issue after creating an accessory for the first time which only covers the antenna (I am going to stress this), I would make it appear as if my company has always been creating and selling cases for our iPhone products.

This appears to be the case, although Apple never claimed to make these cases, it surely appeared so at first glance. While scraping through Apple’s case shop,I for a moment thought that Apple has indeed been creating cases for some time until i noticed that these cases were made from third party companies. Then I noticed this was not the case (see what i did there?). Apple only sells them but they did not manufacture them. The iPhone Bumper however is manufactured by Apple.

Antenna Expert Told Jobs That Magic Wouldn’t Be Enough

The first thought on your mind must be “Everyone these days claims to be an antenna expert. How do we know this one is any more reliable than the others?” I can answer that. This antenna expert works for Apple. The story goes like this:

“Last year, Ruben Caballero, a senior engineer and antenna expert, informed Apple’s management the device’s design may hurt reception, said the person, who is not authorized to speak on Apple’s behalf and asked not to be identified. A carrier partner also raised concerns about the antenna before the device’s June 24 release, according to another person familiar with the situation.” – Bloomberg Report

Once I read this I began to wonder “If Apple was warned about a potentially fatal design flaw, why does Apple claim to be in such shock and awe of this news, and why wasn’t it tested?”

Not even I can speculate an answer for that one. What’s your theory at work?

    I have to agree,
Some of these comments I have been saying.
All I know it that we have tested the iphone with two fingers you can drop two or three bars, it is so easy to do.
But you have to count to twenty as since the updates the delay that the signal meter is DELAYED, yes a nice little trick to try and bluff people,

Also if you have full reception that is all bars, this test may not work as the signal might be very strong, try with 4 bars to start and you;ll end on 1 or 2..

Nice to see the media being honest.

Trying to get the truth out there.
